Can You Imagine?
Can You Imagine?
This entire Album was written, recorded, mixed and released during 2020 & 2021, a period of time that we will look back on with very opposing memories.
Forced to accept that all my concerts were cancelled for the foreseeable future, I mostly internalised, stayed in and wrote like mad; both verse and music. I wrote a Lorca inspired classical guitar concerto in 5 movements, I even ventured out on my allocated supermarket days to perform the entire concerto, live on the streets of Brecon. The only living souls privy to this unique ‘masterpiece’ Ha! were a family of ducks that, because there were no humans or cars, waddled down the centre of the high street in broad daylight.
In tone, Can You Imagine - an album of 10 songs, is very reflective, resolute and resilient. It feels fragile and sensitive when I listen back to it through the smudgy window of our fast moving lives.
Surprisingly, a very fertile Songwriting partnership evolved during this this exact time; hence five of the songs are co-written with Artist and Writer, Jenny Finch: Clarity Road, Never enough, Zoom Girl, All around and Life in Black & White.
The first 3 songs: Something I thought I understood, Clean lines and Can You imagine set the Spiritual barometer for the whole collection.
This is a 2 CD release. CD No. 2 are recordings of the same songs but in their initial - just voice and guitar context.
Written by Keith James and Jenny Finch. Recorded by Keith James and Dave Miller. Mixed and Mastered by Branwen Munn.
